I’m an editor at Slackjaw, a Medium publication with 149k+ followers that runs daily humor pieces from veteran and up-and-coming writers. In 2024, I created “Slackjaw: LIVE,” an NYC comedy show that brings together writers for nights of readings and discussions. Our featured speakers have weighed in on topics ranging from “How To Collaborate When Writing A Humor Book,” “How to Write Topical Political Satire,” “What Banned Books Teach Us About Writing Difficult Stories,” and more.

I produce and host the SJ: LIVE at Caveat, on the Lower East Side. Here are some highlights from our last seven shows:

Hey! Fuzzy Yellow

I had a delightful time writing four episodes of this inventive show for pre-school age kids that centers on self-expression and learning through laughter. HFY was created by Måns Swanberg.

Jared & Daughter

I co-wrote/ executive produced this short. Darin Quan directed / co-wrote it, Alanah Rafferty served as our executive producer.  It was selected for the Art of Brooklyn Film Festival, Asian American International Film Festival, and Brooklyn Film Festival in the 2023 season.

50 Years of Love: The Howie & Sherri Story

I co-directed this documentary alongside Blair Dver about her parents, Sherri and Howie Lippman. This is the story of how they met 50 years ago, fell in love, raised a family, and continue to take on the world together.

Behind the Backdoor Pilot
